Rowing

The club has a growing membership within its Men’s, Women’s, Veteran and Junior squads, and offers a full range of both sweep and sculling boats in two boathouses, together with weights and ergos for land training.

We cater for all levels of experience, so even if you have never rowed before there is the opportunity to develop within the club. Starting in stable boats you can learn to sweep row or scull with an experienced coach. You will then progress into fine boats with the relevant squad, where you will continue to receive coaching and support. All our coaches are also active crew members so have every opportunity to practice what they preach!

For the more experienced rowers, whether you’re out for a Sunday paddle or aspiring to be in a Henley crew, there’s a boat for you. Those wishing to race have plenty of opportunity, with the club frequently entering events across the country or closer to home. As well as continuing to compete through the head race season, club members can take part in the winter training programme to fight through the cold and maximise their potential for when the sun comes out and the regatta season starts.

The Senior Men’s and Women’s squads have an online availability system to assist with planning outings to ensure everyone can get out on the water. This also gives members the flexibility to put in the level of commitment most suitable for them, as we are only too aware there are career and family demands to be balanced with rowing.

If you are interested in learning or returning to row, please contact us through the links on the homepage. Otherwise, feel free to come to the club and meet us.
