Bewdley Regatta 23 / 24 July 2011

BOARC had a strong contingent at the Bewdley Regatta. The team spirit was great, the competition was strong. We had several finalists but only the one win Henk de Lange and Andy Tubbs in a Novice Men's Double, getting through three rounds against Warwick, Worcester University and Abingdon. It all went smoothly apart from a collision in the final against Abingdon when a wayward 4 had drifted out into the course on their way to the start. In the words of Andy “We clashed blades with the 4 which nearly turned us over but we managed to pull back the lead and win by a length and a half”. Andy Taylor kindly transported the boats to and from the event.
