Annual General Meeting

Dear BOARC members,

The Bradford on Avon Rowing Club Annual General Meeting 2015 will take place at 7.30pm on Monday 9th November, at the Bradford on Avon Rugby Club (Winsley).
At this meeting, annual reports will be provided by the Chairman, Treasurer, Captain of Boats and Commodore of Canoes.
This is also the occasion when next year’s committee members are voted in.
Club members over the age of 18 may stand for positions on the committee. I will shortly send out a list of the committee positions together with a brief explanation  of what each role entails. This will also be posted on the notice board at the club. Please check thiscarefully if you feel that you would like to stand for a Committee post, to ensure that you are able to fulfil the requirements. One important criterion for all positions is that you are able to attend monthly Committee meetings.
The nomination process
Twenty one days before the AGM, a notice will be placed on the club notice board inviting the nominations of candidates as Officers of the Club or members of the committee. It will remain there for 14 days.
Anyone wishing to stand for a position should enter their name, together with the names of proposing and seconding members, seven clear days before the date of the AGM.
If any posts remain vacant on the nomination sheet, they may be filled by members in attendance at the AGM.
Raising issues at the AGM
If any club member wishes to raise an issue at the AGM, they must inform me in writing either by e-mail at [email protected], or by leaving a letter addressed to me pinned to the club notice board, no less than three weeks before the date of the AGM.
In summary the dates are as follows:
19/10/ 2015 Final date for giving notice to Secretary of issues to be raised at AGM
List for nominations goes up on club notice board

2/11/ 2015 Closing date for nominations for committee

9/11/2015 AGM
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like any further information.
With kind regards,
Anne-Marie Leflaive
Club Secretary
