The high water levels appear to have flooded the main boathouse again.

Friday 17th January Ian Wynne (Olympic Bronze medallist 500m K1 Athens 2004. Now GB coach.) will be doing a presentation on winter training at the Melksham Adventure Centre. If anyone would like to attend I will find out more details.
Anyone thinking of doing the Waterside series 2014 should be sending in their entries or should have already done so by now, to be sure of getting into race A.
On Saturday the 23rd of November 2013 Bradford on Avon Rowing Club had 11 main crews plus two composite crews competing at the Avon County Rowing Club’s new Autumn Head Race on the 3250 metre course.
Alex Leflaive Manley was undoubtedly the major star of the club crewing with Toby Saunders (Minerva Bath) won IM3 double sculls in a very fast time of 12min 41 seconds finishing 7th Overall.
Fifty year old Steven Archer secured the Fastest Masters single scull time of 13 minutes 32.5 seconds in the masters D single scull which saw him placed 39th overall of the 102 competing crews. Archer also crewed with Alexander Leflaive Manley in the IM1.2- with no competition achieving a time of 13 minutes 37.7 seconds.
BOARC’s Masters E Double sculls of John Barter and Martin Harris (Average age 55 years old) won their race in a time of 13.51 finishing 30th overall.
The newly formed WJ16 4x- crew of Tamsin Brewer, Laura Moorfield, and Emma Pullen and Brogan Coates, put in a very creditable performance on their first race together with a time of 15 minutes 10.6 seconds which gained them second place in their category.
Longstanding crew of the J15.4x+ Alexander and Miles Taylor, Jacob Metz, Alex Linham coxed by an Avon County Coxen George Martin raced the course in 13 minutes 57.7 seconds which gained them 3rd place in the 5 boat race.
Former club secretary Peggy and racing partner Annemarie Leflaive Manley didn’t have any competition but completed the course in 14 minutes 9.8 seconds giving them a handicapped time of 14 minutes 1.8 seconds.
Tamsin Brewer with Club Coach Ching Kilby W.IM3.2x completed the course in time of 14 minutes 41.4 seconds. Another crew on their first race was J164X+ crew Billy Harman, George Moorfield, Harry Richardson, and Harry Swan coxed by Matthew Pullen rowed the course in a of time of 14 minutes 41.9 seconds.
The Mas F .4+ crew of Charles O’Neil, Mike Frost, Chris Friend and Andy Taylor, coxed by Ching Kilby time of 14 minutes 45.3 seconds which gave them a handicapped (adjusted times for age) time of 13 minutes 30.3 seconds.
Mike Frost and Charles O’Neil sculled the Mas F 2X in a time of 15 minutes 59.5 seconds which gave them a handicapped time of time of 14 minutes 40.5 seconds.
Luke Duncan racing in the J15 1X for his first time completed the course in a time of 16 minutes 31.4 seconds.
A composite crew of Chris Blunt (Avon County) Arnold Hodgson,Trevor Lutkin, and Keith Trivett (Avon County) sculled in the Mas H 4x- in a time of 14 minutes 42.0 seconds which gave them a handicapped time of time of 12 minutes 34.0 seconds.
Devizes Race Sunday17th November.
It was great to have so many Bradford paddlers out on the water supporting the local Devizes club race, especially the new members to the club this season. The weather was reasonable for the time of year, not too cold and it was a valuable experience for those new to racing. Thanks to all who turned out.
